15th Irish Cup

Prague, Capitol of the Czech RepublicDublin, Ireland

June 16 – 28, 2011

$2,495.00 from Columbus, OH or Chicago, IL

This magical city of bridges, cathedrals, gold-tipped towers and church domes, has been mirrored in the surface of the swan-filled Vltava River for more than ten centuries. Almost undamaged by WWII, Prague's compact medieval centre remains a wonderful mixture of cobbled lanes, walled courtyards, cathedrals and countless church spires all in the shadow of her majestic 9th century castle that looks eastward as the sun sets behind her. Prague is also a modern and vibrant city full of energy, music, cultural art, fine dining and special events catering to the independent traveler’s thirst for adventure.

For centuries, during the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague was the permanent seat of two Holy Roman Emperors and thus was also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. The city played roles in the Protestant Reformation, the Thirty Years' War, and in 20th-century history, both during the two World Wars and during the post-war Communist era.

AKJU will spend 7 days and 6 nights in Prague before heading to Dublin for the Irish Cup and 6 days and 5 nights to explore Ireland.

This will allow everyone plenty of time to explore as a group or on your own. Coach Madden is also planning a side trip to Krakow, Poland to visit Auschwitz concentration camp, for anyone who is interested in going.

The hotel in Prague is the Hotel Pyramida, http://www.hotels-in-prague-czech.com/hotel-pyramida.php . It combines comfortable accommodations, high quality cuisine and matching service.  It is in an ideal location, with WI-FI connections, air conditioning, indoor swimming pool, weight room, solarium, sauna and a certified masseur.

The hotel in Dublin is the Blooms hotel; http://bloomshoteldublin.com/, which is attractively located at the nerve centre of Dublin's cultural heart, Temple Bar district.

This trip is limited to the first 50, so get your down payment in right away.  You must decide by March 14th and final payment is due April 10, 2011.
